The nine forms of devi represent different qualities of Mother Devine. The Devi shakti is the source of energy in the creation. The Navratri celebrate the nine different forms of the  Divine Mother, Navdurga

Day 1 Shailiputri Devi

Shaili Putri literally translates into goddess of the peak. This signifies the highest level of consciousness in a seeker. It is experienced when one reaches a peak of experience or feeling. It appears when you are 100 percent consumed in anything.  It can be a feeling of joy, anger, devotion etc. It is an intense feeling that consumes your entire being which gives birth to the energy of the Goddess within you.

She is a symbol of strength and stability.  Thus on this first day of navratri embrace change  with inner strength and gratitude.  Happy festivities!
