Happiness contrary to popular belief is not a future promise But it is a reality of day to day living.
If one believes he wishes to be happy somewhere in the future he is deluded. Just like a mirage which appears to exist but disappears soon, happiness cannot be achieved by those who believe it to exist in a future time frame.
Happiness lies in the small acts that brings one satisfaction and joy.
Here are 5 powerful practices through which I stopped. Chasing Happiness but started living it.
Stress reduction: mental stress is a significant cause of lack of happiness. Stress reduction can be achieved by following a few practices daily to recharge your mind. These include meditation, journaling, deep breathing techniques.
Mindfulness: these practices help us appreciate the beauty of every object around us. Being mindful of nature’s creations leads to a sense of awe.
Gratitude Practice: Practicing gratitude leads to us counting our blessings and focusing on the positives rather than the negative situations we go through
Creative persuits: creative pursuits like writing, drawing or any other hobby that gives us a sense of fulfilment go a long way in creating a sense of satisfaction and boosts self esteem.
Taking care of our physical health through proper diet, exercise and medication is a need of the hour. Accepting our short comings and working towards them while keeping a positive mindset contributes to happiness and joy.
