Stress is a condition which everyone goes through at some point in time. A study published in 2024 said that 1 in 2 urban Indians felt stressed. Stress is also more prevalent in younger age groups. Long standing stress can lead to anxiety, lack of concentration and depression. stress is also a contributing factor to chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension, stroke, diabetes, heart disease etc. As a Public Health Specialist, i believe Managing stress at root levels and prevention of complications is essential. Although physical exercise, breathwork, meditation etc are said to be the first line of self care many people are not aware on how it has to be done and incorporated in our daily lives. Thus, merely a talk in stress management and emotional regulation is not enough, proper techniques, and hands on training along with a support system is essential. People also need to be aware on when self care is not enough and Specialist help is necessary. This is the primary objective of starting the stress management workshops. providing individuals with practical tools, simplifying the routine and creating awareness on when to seek help.
