Cultivating Happiness Daily

Happiness is a virtue that needs to be cultivated everyday consciously. We need to make efforts to remain undisturbed in times of great turbulence in our lives. Someway which we can remain happy are:
Take care of our health :Our health is one of the major determinants in being healthy. For this we need to eat right based on our age and activity, sleep well, exercise and meditate. These activities will keep us healthy physically and mentally.
Respond not react: when faced with challenging situations we get angry and react in an undesirable way which we then regret. Hence we should contemplate before we react to any situation. We need to be able to control our anger and emotions and respond in a logical manner that will not hurt anyone.
We need to forgive often: our mind is cluttered with events where we have been hurt and we find it difficult to let go. These events bother us and prevent us from being happy
Being in the present moment: we need to stop dwelling over past events. However good or bad they are history and cannot be re-lived. Hence it is better to let go of them and live in the current time frame and create more enjoyable moments. Also, worries of the future make us tensed and anxious. We need to plan for the future but stop worrying about it, as worrying will not change the outcomes in the future but will only prevent you from enjoying the present.
Accepting situations: we sometimes find ourselves in unpleasant situations and are constantly blaming them for our unhappiness. Instead of doing so we should learn to accept the situations we are in and learn to make the best out of them. Remember the situations last for a short time and will definitely change.
Do not let outside conditions limit your happiness: we get worked up and disturbed when someone does an unkind act or says unkind words to us. We lose our sleep for several days on such occurrences. We should train our mind to be uninfluenced by such circumstances. We should maintain equanimity in our mind and not lose our inner peace. It doesn’t mean that we should not correct them but we need to do so without affecting our inner peace
Service: strive to provide any kind of service to others according to your capability and skills . It can be a small act of kindness or a patient hearing to another’s problems. Be useful to nature and humanity in whatever capacity you can. This activity gives us immense happiness and joy
Gratitude: Always be grateful for the beautiful life you have and count your blessings.
