Curiosity is something that piques our interest. It makes us really wonder why a particular thing happens? It is the basis of scientific enquiry, discoveries and inventions.
However, most of us laymen are more curious about the latest scandal in town, the hot selling gossip about our neighbors or what a celebrity does. We hardly use our curiosity for higher purpose. We are stuck in the muck of what other people do. This is not the way we should be.
We should be curious about events that will uplift our life and enrich it. We should be wondering what are the basic problems in the world and how will I be able to solve them? What are the skills I have that will help people and nature around me?
We should be curious about how every little being survives ,how planets are floating and spinning yet in a state of balance, we should be in awe of how wonderfully and well designed creation is.
Every living being is bestowed with basic needs and means to fulfill them, all are composed of the same basic elements yet one is an ant and another a human. One with a simple anatomy and another with complex organ systems. We should be mesmerized by the amazing creation around us. It is only when we come out of our minds narrow views and thinking we realise the wonder all around us. This is the first step towards spiritual experience. We understand and realise that there is a world beyond our minds the mysteries of which are unfathomable and much larger beyond our daily grind and problems.
So let’s be curious to learn and understand our surroundings rather than our neighbors lives and find a sense of purpose and fulfillment in our existence.
What are you curious about?
