She knew he loved her, it was so obvious in all the things he did like holding her hand during chemo, making her comfort food and even covering her with a blanket at night, the only thing missing was that he never knew it!
She loved the beautiful ambience he had created specially for her and understood the love that was poured in the efforts, but he believed that love didnt exist but she knew him better than that, if this isn’t love than what is?
She smiled at him, her frail cancer ridden body too weak to get up for a hug,”Its beautiful thank you dear” she said.
“Happy Birthday sweetheart”, he said, “without you I am not myself, I always need you to be happy and want to be the one who is there for you always, is this how love feels? If yes, I love you dear always have and always will and I am sorry for having not said it in all our 30 years of marriage.”
She smiled at him and said,” I always knew you loved me, although you never said the words your actions always gave you away, I felt it when you held my hand at the farm, when you shared your coat in the winter and when you always put my needs before yours you have always showed me how beautiful love is and I am very happy to have shared it with you!”
