Surrender

She waited..

hoping for a miracle she waited

By the sea side on the deck

Life is not fair

Time passed and hopes turned to despair

Yet she waited .. by the sea side on the deck

Life crumbled all around and existence turned to dust

Making her body frail and weak

Still …she waited..

Then the sun rose bringing with it new beginnings

Waiting for her to reach out and see

But too engrossed in her misery and immersed in her grief

She missed the sun completely and so it continued for many instances

Finally running out of self pity she surrendered herself to the almighty

And looked up with teary eyes

Right into the face of a bright new sky

Her withering body full of joy

And a touch of pain for having missed it all along

Filled with life and vigour

She rose to the skies above

As a realisation dawned

Surrender as a tool was born
