The Mask We Wear

Are we real? Are we true to ourselves? Is the life we live the same as we present to the outside world?
Most individuals live a dual identity. We have an entire universe within ourselves whom we indulge in when we are alone. Some people will plan and strategize whereas some will immerse themselves in sorrow of the past, yet some will be wrapped in emotions of hatred, revenge and aggression. Yet, what we present to the world could be a cool facade, when we have wars raging within us.
Is it right though? Shouldn’t we be able to be outside what we feel inside? Or even better, feel and present blissfulness inside and outside. No pretence, no dilemma just your natural self without the mask we force on our selves.
One may say that it is not a possibility, but I would argue otherwise. Letting go of our inner turmoil is the way to happiness. Yes we should plan and take charge of our lives, but not let it define us. Also, all negative emotions of hatred, grief and sorrow need to be given up so as to make space for positivity and love to enter our being.
The first step is the most difficult but once done the rest follows. Our task appears impossible but one step at a time and we can conquer the world.
Let’s all pledge for a happier world starting right now with ourselves.
