What animals make the best/worst pets?

I don’t understand the concept of pets much less best and worst. Why do we humans need to classify everything into good and bad, best and worse, acceptable and unacceptable… And that too based on individual perception?

Nature has been created to be interdependent on each other. To maintain and preserve the natural ecosystem. To ensure that balance of life and death is maintained and continuity of lifeforms is ensured.

However we humans with our big brains and smaller perceptions want to classify everything according to our taste. Beautiful and ugly, better and worse, desirable and undesirable and so on. In doing so we do not realise that propogation of one species and destruction of the other ultimately has an adverse consequence for our lives.

This can be best illustrated by the dwindling populations of the bees.. leading to lesser pollination and subsequently lesser food production. And although we have not reached the pinnacle of destruction for the effects to be apparent, the way the onslaught of nature is continuing by mankind that day is not very far.

And many people thus argue that we will move to more habitable planets by then… I would just like to ask that when you couldn’t have the sense to preserve the most natural habitat you have just by change of perception and habits … How than can u ensure the preservation and continuity of a planet that you only understand remotely?

Yes, scientific advances are the key…but at the same time we need to have a deeper look at the earth’s ecology. Suffering through the climatic changes by adding on newer technology but not willing to address the main cause of the suffering is the height of foolishness and stupidity.

You may think where do pets feature here in my perspective . But it’s right here for you to see. Pets are a part of your life. They are your companions and no less than your own child. If you are capable of loving a human being or a particular animal then you understand how precious life is! And whether you feel it is beautiful or ugly it is still life… You just have to change your perspective and visualise the magnanimity of the creation. Explore your boundaries from just your family to everything around you…and its only then that you will rise above the differences of your own making! Only then will you stop seeing everything as black and white, but will appreciate the entire colour spectrum in between!
